Woodley keeps his title, barely

An anticipated title fight between the brutal champion, Tyron "The Chosen One" Woodly and the challenger, karate master Stephen Thompson took place last night.

Thompson, with his unpredictable striking abilities, missed the opportunity to surprise Woodley and got taken down solidly in the first round. He just could not get out of the wrestler's grip, taking on some good hits, but somehow managing to survive the round.

Thompson's kicks just didn't connect enough until the end of the second round, where a good spinning kick winded Woodley and he then chained in some good fist strikes. That was enough for Woodley to tell his opponent that he did a good job (an awkward sparring reflex, I guess ;-))

By the midpoint, it was hard to tell who would take home the title. Both opponents still seemed quite capable of opening up more in the last half.

Round four felt just like round one until Tyron's powerful hook punch took down Stephen into a full-strength guillotine with Wonderboy just refusing to tap out and even throwing in some rib punches while being chocked hard. It was unbelievable! This time, it was Thompson who helped Woodley up after the bell.

The fight went the distance, and the final round saw better connection strikes by Thompson, but it wasn't enough for the win, making Woodley the undisputed champion by spit decision/majority draw.
